Denmark is a small country, and the short distances between towns mean that alternative means of transport are rarely required.
Ferries
Because of the many islands which are characteristic of Denmark you can hardly avoid using a ferry.
Trains
In most of the country bicycles can be taken by train as accompanied luggage, and a charge is made for this service. The Danish State Railways (DSB) produce a leaflet: “Bikes in trains” giving all details. It is possible to foreward the bike, ask at the station..
Buses
A large part of the public transport system is covered by busses which can take 2-4 bicycles. However, your bicycle may be rejected as other types og luggage e.g. prams have priority. Busses in larger towns and surrounding areas do not take bicycles.
